Immortal Magic: Forbidden Love is a work of paranormal romance fiction aimed at young adults, and was penned by author B. J. Fournier. Set in the complementary fields of both romantic vampire fantasy fiction and tales of witchcraft, this dark and seductive work keeps its action and lust YA rated so that readers of all sensibilities can enjoy it. The central figure is Amber Wilmington who belongs to a world of witches, but meets a stranger from another world entirely and finds herself drawn to cross a line that none of her kind has crossed before. What follows is an epic tale of conflict, magic, passion, and heartache.
One of the most impressive features of author B. J. Fournier’s writing is the way that the chapters are structured to deliver a truly compulsive page-turner. The action flows with plenty of twists and cliff-hangers to keep readers returning to the text to see what happens next, which makes this quite sizeable read fly by as an action-packed joy to read. I liked Amber, Danny, Bobby and the rest and enjoyed their character development so far in this, the first book of the series. I feel there’s plenty to go on here for readers to continue into the world which Fournier has built, which is highly descriptive, full of magic and social warfare on either side of the battle. Overall, Immortal Magic: Forbidden Love is an excellent opening to a paranormal fantasy romance series that is sure to satisfy its audience at a breakneck pace.
