Imperfectly Criminal is Book 2 in the Imperfect series by Mary Frame. Freya Morgan has had enough of her cheating boyfriend so she dumps him. But she’s not content with that, so she finds Dean Collins and hires him to beat up her ex. That should have made her feel better but, a few months later, she still can’t get over what happened. Dean is in a spot of trouble and it all started with Freya. Now all the ladies want to pay him to beat up on people, but two of the boys he went after are dead. He didn’t do it, but he is the connection – the only one. Freya and Dean get together to track down the real murderer and Freya discovers that Dean isn’t such a bad boy after all. Getting involved with him could be dangerous – on more than one level.
Imperfectly Criminal by Mary Frame was something different. I didn’t read the first book in the series so I don’t know the characters, but I liked what I read. Mary has a conversational way of writing, a way of bringing the reader into the story and making us a part of it. She is a very creative writer, she threw in plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep me hooked. I definitely didn’t see the ending coming! Great book, with well-developed and very witty characters. This book contains it all – comedy, drama, mystery and murder all rolled into one fabulous novel.
