Life as a mermaid can be complicated as Kyra Goodwin knows all too well! Having been forced to choose an alternative career by the early death of her mother and her Pops's accident, Kyra knows she is the lynchpin of the Goodwin family. Wearing a tail and jewel-encrusted bra she is carried daily to the tank by her hunky merwrangler Declan where she and her fellow mermaids delight audiences at the Cape Cod aquarium. Kyra is faced with a moral dilemma when a proposed resort threatens to close access to her favorite beach, yet she has become romantically entangled with a key member of the resort's staff. Can Cade, the surfer with a bod to die for, and Kyra keep their relationship alive despite their differing views or will the resort come between them and destroy their connection? In the Swim of Things by Tracie Banister is a sexy, seaside saga that will transport you to the sun-soaked beach in Cape Cod and have you basking in the rays in no time!
What a great summer read, or any other time to be honest. Kyra is a strong woman who has to be the head of the family and keep her brother Sean in line. She is also the head mermaid at the aquarium and is responsible for the less than professional attitude to work that her fellow workers can sometimes adopt. In the Swim of Things by Tracie Banister is a modern tale of love and lust and will keep you gripped until the very last page. Filled with fun characters, this story makes sure you will be laughing and cheering for Kyra as she takes on a big city developer with a passion that is admirable and an attitude that is ballsy! Throw in a surfing god and a brooding merwrangler both vying for her affections and you have a cracking read all round!
