After her divorce and the relocation to a different area, Lisa Hampton has really been doing well in her life. That is except for an extremely difficult relationship with her daughter Chanelle. But Lisa doesn’t always make the right choices in life. And one was choosing the wrong guy for Chanelle because he ended up raping her. This was a difficult scene to read, and what a horrible thing for a parent to have to deal with, knowing it was probably her fault.

Wow, this book had my head spinning at time because of the twists and turns in the life of this family. There is so much going on with Lisa and her family that at times I wondered how they would ever survive. The author refers back to the past a lot to reveal the circumstances leading to the struggles the characters experience in their present life. I really appreciate that Ms. Sanders so vividly and accurately described the scenes as real life situations that happen in the everyday lives of people today. It was sometimes a difficult read because of the issues talked about in this book, but yet it is a needed message because it could help someone going through one or more of these same issues.

I like the way Ms. Sanders knows when to use the right Bible verses at just the right time for the particular situation. Anyone going through a difficult life will benefit from In Times of Trouble, and draw encouragement and strength from these pages.
