Despite their drastically different paths, these three individuals are about to discover that vengeance comes at a steep cost in Inferno's Silence by Rainer Meri.
Beautifully crafted creatures with intriguing special abilities highlight the impressively detailed world-building in Rainer Meri's Inferno's Silence. Each chapter follows the perspective of one of the main characters. The dialogue is direct and infused with the distinctive traits of each character, along with soliloquies that immerse readers in their motivations. This makes it easy for readers to identify with the character, whose approach to battling the regime resonates with them. Readers will contrast Ehrkon's gradual darkening actions and visions, as he reminisces about his lost loved ones, with Tren's quirky nicknames for everyone he encounters and hilarious retorts when he is in tight spots. Meri balances intense battle scenes and detailed fight sequences with vibrant magical displays by some of the combatants. The narrative is filled with carefully placed clues that perceptive readers will enjoy piecing together as it unfolds. Inferno's Silence is a thought-provoking masterpiece in a class of its own.
