Tobey Alexander's adventure novel Into The Dark is a Magdon Series Adventure story, based on the series Origins Of The Magdon. Gabe and his family learn of the demonic monster Magdon from the journal of Archibald Skevington, Gabe’s great-grandfather. Archy killed a Magdon in South Africa in the 1930s. In a cryptic note, Archy leaves a legacy and challenge to the younger generation to save humanity from the Magdon. The Veks, led by Viktor Franklyn, worship the Magdon. Gabe and his children - Claudia, 16, and Logan, 15 - are plunged into a perilous journey when Gabe's wife Sara is kidnapped by the Veks. To save Sara's life, Gabe must find the relics of the Magdon legend. Their journey "into the Dark” begins in Wollaton Hall in their hometown, Nottingham. They follow Archy's clues to Wales, to Lake Arthur. Sara is a prisoner in South Africa. Can they save her?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Tobey Alexander's adventure novel Into The Dark. It is a suspense-filled tale of a family's tenacity, courage, and determination against overwhelming odds. I liked the way Gabe and his children, Claudia and Logan, mature as they face formidable enemies. Gabe is unsettled by Archy's story, but Sara's kidnapping leaves him no choice. The quest turns into an inner journey. I liked the way Tobey Alexander reveals the ruthless and murderous Viktor who will stop at nothing to protect the Magdon. I liked the richly imagined settings and drawings of the terrifying horrors of the Magdon, the dark sinister atmosphere of Wollaton Hall and the shipwrecked Mors XI in South Africa. A gripping novel of a family's endurance and their fantastic journey "into the Dark."
