Irresistible in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 8 is a contemporary sizzling romance novel written by Anna Durand. Catriona MacTaggart was furious when she realized that the tenure-track offer made to her by Thensmore University in the US had been on the recommendation of Alex Thorne. The thought that they’d be in the same archaeology department made her blood boil. When Dean Hooper told her that there was a housing shortage and that she’d have to make do with a room in Alex’s 15-bedroom mansion, she was ready to go back home to Scotland. To say she and Alex had history was putting it lightly. But Alex Thorne had secrets, a darkness he was determined to shield her from. Between her fury and lack of trust and his need to protect her, the two seemed fated to stay enemies forever -- or were they?
Anna Durand’s Irresistible in a Kilt is a well-written and enjoyable return to Dundubhan Castle, Scotland, and the ever-unpredictable, warm-hearted, and fiery-tempered MacTaggart clan. Durand’s Hot Scots series has been loads of fun to read, and this newest installment in the series is no exception. And while Irresistible in a Kilt can be read as a standalone, why miss out on the first 7 books in the series? They’re well worth it. Durand’s battling archaeologists, Alex and Catriona, are grand characters, and one can’t help but hope, along with Logan and Serena, that they finally come to terms with each other and realize how well matched they really are. The other members of Durand’s MacTaggart clan become more nuanced and complex with each new book as well. The author’s action-packed and suspenseful plot keeps the reader on their toes, and the grown-up sizzle never disappoints. I’m waiting for Book 9. Irresistible in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 8 is most highly recommended.
