James Sleuthberry and the Great Bugatti Heist by Troy and James Wilson will hold the attention of any child. Detective James Sleuthberry is 11 years old. He has two sidekicks, Penelope Jane Thorne and Cluey Sleuthberry, his faithful K9-trained dog. They help his father, Sir Laurence Augustus Sleuthberry, who is a detective in the police force. James has been trained by his father to be more observant than most children and to use his skills of deduction, maths, and observation to the very best of his abilities. James and Penny get sent on a quest to help find and return a Missing Bugatti Type 59X, which was built between 1935 and 1936 and then disappeared with a secret.

In James Sleuthberry and the Great Bugatti Heist by Troy and James Wilson, the Bugatti is hiding something that will make anyone who finds it very wealthy. But the founder and designer of the Bugatti hid it so that it would not fall into the wrong hands. Hence, the theft of the car. The evil characters are too delightful: Stubbs, Gus, and Hog. They each have such humorous quirks. Then there is Nigel Boffle, a most clumsy and eccentric gentleman who has declared himself the Unofficial Official Detective. This book will help a young reader realize the beauty of teamwork and working with others to achieve a goal without putting themselves in danger. The children embark on an adventure that takes them to France and further secrets concerning the Bugatti of Lord Rupert Archibald McThistlewaite III. The end of the book leaves the reader's imagination racing to find the next book to see if it is even better. This is a book that will definitely be read more than once by both child and adult who are young at heart. I enjoyed this book tremendously, and I highly recommend it.
