Joseph Guy is a Bible-believing, gospel-sharing man of faith. In Journey to Bethlehem: 25-Day Christmas Devotional and Journal, he leads his readers through the original Christmas story with devotions filled with spiritual golden nuggets. I love his statement, “What we see as a mess, God sees as a miracle.” Working through this journal will give you a wonderful twenty-five days leading up to celebrating the miracle of the virgin birth. You will walk close to Jesus through the devotions. God always keeps His promises, and this book is full of these promises. We must set aside time daily to meditate on everything Jesus has done for us. We need to focus on what God is doing, not on what is happening around us. As we focus on Jesus, we become close to Him.
Looking to Jesus as we journey through life’s trials is one way to ensure victory. Journey to Bethlehem is full of wisdom on how to live a godly, victorious life. Joseph Guy writes in a straightforward, since-God-said-it-I-believe-it manner. He makes no apology for accepting the Word of God as Truth. This book teaches the reader to focus on opportunities, not disadvantages. The culmination of the devotions falls on December 25, when the greatest Gift ever given is discussed. God gave the world His Best at Christmas. This is a great devotional to use year after year leading up to Christmas morning. It will increase your faith and feed your spirit. What part of the Christmas story will you find most inspiring?
