Justice for Abby by Cate Beauman is the sixth book in The Bodyguards of L.A. County series. Abby Harris was kidnapped by a brutal sex trafficking ring, where she suffered horrific abuse for several months, until being rescued in an FBI sting operation. Now, she lives with a bodyguard, Jerrod Quinn, a former US Marshall, who now works for Ethan Cooke Security. As the trial date nears, new threats pop up, continually testing Jerrod’s skills and ability to keep Abby safe from harm. The heads of the ring want Abby dead, and Jerrod has to think quickly to keep his client alive until the trial date. Along with that, the two begin to harbor romantic feelings for one another. Will Jerrod be able to do his job, or will his feelings for Abby put him in a vulnerable position?
Miss Beauman has written a fast-paced, heart-pounding romantic suspense novel. I enjoyed every moment of this book, finding myself pulled seamlessly into Abby and Jerrod’s world. Even though this book is a part of a series, it definitely stands alone. I would be keen to read other books in the series as the writing is so compelling. The plot was perfectly developed, and I felt the story ended when it should have. I loved the relationship build-up between Abby and Jerrod. There were some very steamy scenes in this novel, but all were tastefully done. Justice for Abby by Cate Beauman is definitely worth the read for anyone who enjoys a little action with their romance.
