La Chimère of Prague is the second book in The Chimera of Prague series by Richard Pryll. Continuing the story of Joseph, an ex-pat living in Prague in the 90s, readers meet Joseph and his chaotic life once again. After the death of his girlfriend, Joseph was not the same. It was as if a switch was turned off, and Joseph was not the same philandering man. However, things changed when he met Katrina, a supermodel who stole his heart. She was it for Joseph, but it looked like love was not in the cards for him. Could he give love another chance, even though he was hurt more times than he could count? Or would he go back to his old ways and learn to live life blissfully unaware?
La Chimère of Prague by Richard Pryll was entertaining and hilarious. Joseph’s character was charming and frustrating at times. The protagonist was agonizingly unaware of the real world at times, but at the same time, he was very relatable. He lived by his own standards and his own laws. Joseph was plain and simple. What you saw was what you got with him. His antics were entertaining, the dialogues were refreshing, and the witty way his character developed made the story incredibly fun. The fast-paced narrative was the perfect complement for the plot and allowed readers to invest in the story from the get-go. The characters were entertaining, the chapter length was perfect, and the overall feel of the story was enjoyable. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.
