I really enjoyed this book. It starts a little slow but really picks up once Alex travels through time. Alex’s transformation into a hero is a joy to watch and the interactions between him and Maggie felt genuine. There are times it feels overwritten but the story and plot are fascinated with some interesting themes about destiny.

The climax is intriguing and fun! I loved the Indiana Jones-like adventure and fantasy elements that are mixed in with a science fiction setting. There’s an epic scale that still feels very grounded with its level of intimacy with the characters. Even the supporting characters are interesting and given enough depth that I want to learn more about them.

Some of the dialogue could be improved but it’s a good start to a new series and I look forward to seeing what happens next!

I loved this book! I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it! The pacing was excellent, the characterizations were believable. The action was intense and had me turning each page nonstop to see what happens next, especially during the book's climax. No spoilers, but I found it to be very creative with an intriguing mix of scifi and fantasy. The best part was seeing the growth in Alex as he goes from a timid teenager to a confident hero ready to save the galaxy.

This is an excellent debut novel for Jonathan Sears and I can't wait to read his next book!

This was such a fun action packed read. The main character Alex is super relatable and when he gets transported to the future he is no where near prepared for what awaits him. Thankfully he is rescued by a group of intergalactic allies and has to make the choice to help them collect all the magical relics and save the universe or try to find his way home. This is an action packed fast paced novel that has alien battles and magical relics and this book was right up my alley. Enjoyable read
