Lenny’s Big Baseball Road Trip is the second of David Janover’s books that I have read, and it’s every bit as good as the first one. On the one hand, it’s an illustrated story about a love for baseball, but deeper than that, it’s about family values. It’s about discovering and deepening bonds, about learning to work together, and it’s about following your dreams. If you’ve never visited America, this is a great book to introduce you to it. Along the way, you’ll learn about the different cities and the distances between them (just in case you want to plan your own road trip). David has created a lovely set of family characters who will resonate with readers, and the messages in the book are important ones for all to learn—kids and adults alike. It’s a magical, heartwarming story, well-written in a way that all kids will understand, and it’s guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone's face.
