Lilibet and the Creature by Phaedra Moon is an enlightening book for young girls who are going through the transition of becoming young women. The book follows young Lilibet on her journey to becoming a woman; one day she's out enjoying her happy life, the next a raindrop falls and changes everything. If you like stories and are going through similar life changes as Lilibet is, then grab a copy of Lilibet and the Creature, and allow yourself to get lost in the story Phaedra Moon has written.
Lilibet and the Creature is an enjoyable read. Not only does it tell a beautiful story, but it also educates readers on the many changes the female body goes through. Young girls may find themselves feeling confused and even afraid of what their bodies are doing, but with a book like Lilibet and the Creature, they have nothing to fear. Phaedra Moon has written this book to be open-minded and will present the conversation between a parent and child. These conversations can be tricky and possibly embarrassing. But children need to learn that there is nothing to be embarrassed about, that it is all a natural and normal part of growing up. The illustrations by the talented Norville Parchment are a perfect fit for this book, and I must mention how adorable they are. So if you have a child who is about to go through the big change of embracing womanhood, then purchase a copy of Lilibet and the Creature, and see where your child's journey takes them.
