Long Since Drowned by Angela Grey is the fourth book in the Dakota Killer Thriller series. A body has been pulled out of Falls Park, but it’s being passed off as just another tragedy. Laci O’Neill is still traumatized by her journey to find her missing sisters, and she travels to Sioux Falls with Willow, one of her sisters, looking for a quieter life. She knows the body in the river wasn’t an accident, and when more women disappear, she joins forces with Detective Tucker Kingsley to solve the mystery. The trail leads to an abandoned mill, and their investigation begins to uncover long-buried secrets, leading Laci to face the awful truth that the disappearances and violence could well be linked to those secrets. How many more secrets will the river give up before the mystery is solved?
Angela Grey’s Long Since Drowned is a haunting, gripping read that grabs your attention from the very beginning. I read the previous book in the series, and this one is just as good. It’s a steady story, and the chapters are short enough to make it easy to keep reading. The characters are really well-developed; Laci’s development builds from the previous story, but if this is the first book you’ve read in the series, you won't have any trouble getting to know her. Her character is emotional and realistic, flawed and incredibly likable. The story is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing right to the end, but don’t expect a light mystery story. This is quite intense, dark in places, and full of suspense. Overall, it is an engaging, satisfying read, perfect for anyone who loves a mystery story with plenty of heart and depth.
