Follow the delightful adventures of a precocious young girl in Julie Paiva's captivating picture book, Lucky Penny. Penny is no ordinary child. You see, she was born lucky. One day, while taking a stroll with her dad in the park, she finds an old coin in the ground that her dad calls her lucky charm. She is so happy that when she arrives in school, she greets her friends with a smile on her face and even hugs Ms. Cane. But she soon discovers that she has lost her lucky coin. Now, Penny is unhappy. She feels like it's the worst day of her life. However, working on school projects with her friends and her dad's reassurance quickly makes Penny realize that it's not the coin that was lucky. It is Penny herself who is special.

Lucky Penny is a delightful tale for kids that teaches a gentle lesson about self-belief and self-empowerment. Author Julie Paiva infuses the narrative with a lot of heart and charm. The story is not only kid-friendly but also weaves in some valuable life lessons that will nurture young minds and hearts. The characters are adorable. Penny is someone all young readers will love to follow. She brightens every scene with her presence and brings joy to her friends, family, and even her teachers. Her cheerful personality is almost infectious. Additionally, the illustrations make the story even more entertaining. Illustrator Srimalie Bassani's artwork complements Paiva's storytelling perfectly. I absolutely loved reading this book. It will bring joy to young and older readers alike. For preteen readers, this is a fantastic picture book. Do not miss out on this one!
