Masked Conspiracy (A Noah Knolls Thriller) by E. C. Fisher starts with a prologue that describes events of seven years ago in New York City. As the title reveals, the plot involves a secret organization that rewards its followers with wealth and power, if they obey the tenets of their secret cabal. It involves an ancient and macabre ritual. When one of their chief officers discovers what the ritual is, he rebels and works to put an end to it. This leads to unfortunate events seven years later. Logan Knolls, the chief officer, has to leave his wife and young son for their own safety. Seven years pass and Noah is grown up. His mother sends him to New York City to stay with Logan’s old friend, Walter. As soon as Noah’s plane lands in the Big Apple, he must fend off some bad men at the airport and evade them with Walter’s help. The two of them investigate why Noah's father led a double life, what caused him to leave home and the conspiracy behind it. Unable to make contact with his mother, Noah and Walter find themselves in immediate danger.
E. C. Fischer moves the story along with snappy dialogue and just the right pace. With an intriguing plot and attention to detail, Masked Conspiracy is a fun thriller. Main and secondary characters are well-rounded and fleshed out to the point that you care about what happens to them. The story flows from scene to scene seamlessly and the author keeps the reader well engaged. With interesting and credible characters, sinister bad guys and an intriguing plot twist or two, Masked Conspiracy (A Noah Knolls Thriller) by E. C. Fischer is a suspense-filled thriller for young adult and older readers alike.
