Author Biography

I grew up on Long Island, New York in the quaint village of Northport. After graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. in Microbiology, I moved to Houston, Texas to pursue my Ph.D. studies in Cancer Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center through UT Health Science Center. After receiving a US Patent for my reasearch, "Lipid Complexed Topoisomerase I Inhibitors", I left graduate school for a career in financial services.
I have been fortunate to work for some of the top companies in financial services - some better known New York Stock Exchange listed companies like American Express, Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch (now part of Bank of America), JP Morgan Chase, as well as some smaller New York Stock Exchange listed companies like Cullen/Frost Bankers (NYSE: CFR) and Guaranty Bank (now part of BBVA, NYSE: BBVA).
I realized my time working as both a financial advisor and sales manager with some of these top firms over almost two decades, exposed me to much high-level training which could be applied to both personal life as well as my professional career. I also realized many others might also benefit from this information, so I decided to compile the best of this training in order to make it accessible and applicable for anyone who had an interest. I combined this with trial and error uses/enhancements (real world application) of this information, personal stories, real world experiences, and observations - creating the book, "Mentor Me: GA=T+E—A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement".
The initial feedback I have received is this book is "succinct", "practical", "easy-to-read", and "easy-to-implement".
My hope is everyone who reads "Mentor Me" can find something therein to take away and use to have a positive impact on their lives. Mentor Me GA=T+E—A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement by Ken Poirot is designed to work as a document that is essential living. A book that will help you decide on and attain your greatest dream while being something you can turn to more than just once when reading. The most common dream that people have is a truly happy life and sometimes to get that dream we know we need a little bit of help.

I went into this book not knowing much about Ken Poirot, the author. I wanted to have a fully open mind for this self help book and I am pleased that I read it. You can tell that Ken Poirot has experience in coaching and financial services expertise - all of that comes together in a book that really does help and offers some pointers. The way that it is written and laid out is easy to follow and understand, which personally I find is the only way I want to read a self help book. When I sit down to get some help on a topic, I want to be able to understand what I am reading without needing a translation. Mentor Me gives me all of that and more. Anyone out there who has goals and wants help in realizing them - and that is almost everyone - should think about reading this book. It makes things seem possible and not overwhelming and will help give you a focus point.

Mentor Me - GA=T+E—A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement by Ken Poirot is a useful guide that can used to motivate and inspire people in achieving happiness and helping others. The book reiterates the fact that we are all students of life and there might be many lessons that still require learning. This book is for those who are looking to bring about positive changes in their lives and it will walk with you through the entire process. The author integrates successful strategies to empower readers to become successful in their lives. Are you ready to transform your life and take it to the next level?

The contents of the entire book can be summed up by reading this snippet: 'My Greatest Achievement (GA) in life is spending my Time (T) and Energy (E) helping, motivating, inspiring, and influencing others to create their own Greatest Achievement (GA). (GA = T + E: Greatest Achievement = Time + Energy).' This inspirational book is very useful to educators and therapists while working with students and people. The interactive exercises, personal stories, and observations in the book will help readers to review what they have read and work towards achieving their personal goals.

The book has simple ideas and methods. Nothing in the book is complicated to practice and incorporate into your daily lives. The author's eighteen-year experience has been put into the book and it will definitely have a positive effect on those looking for a change in their lives. Overall this is a motivating and inspiring book that will help change your attitude towards life and living.

Mentor Me: GA = T + E – A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement by Ken Poirot is a motivational book that proposes a formula called the Greatest Achievement which can be applied by anyone who aspires to achieve their ultimate goal in life. The author discuses one by one the tools needed for this goal; from how to use your time and energy to succeed to the importance of how to schedule your day to fit not only the activities related to your goal, but also those related to your personal life and well-being. Poirot shows readers other important tools, such as knowing your and others’ personality types, how to communicate effectively and positively, understanding how you and others learn, as well as what motivates you and other people. The book finishes with a few examples from the author’s experience, illustrating how he applied the knowledge in the book and with a conclusion summarising the main ideas.

Mentor Me: GA = T + E – A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement by Ken Poirot is clearly and succinctly written in an easy to understand and jargon free language. Although at first it may seem to be written for people working in sales, the knowledge from the book can be applied to any career one may have that involves working with people and meeting targets as well as to personal life. I enjoyed the fact that the book is conceived as a manual, so there are working sheets at the end of each chapter where readers can put down their own answers and goals adapted to their circumstances. As for what the Greatest Achievement is, in my understanding this can be anything one dreams of having in life (financial security, success, etc) but has postponed working towards achieving it. After reading this book and doing the exercises within, this might change for the better. Overall this is a great book, enjoyable to read and with useful knowledge.

Ken Poirot’s Mentor Me: GA=T+E, A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement is a book designed to guide readers in the fulfillment of their goals in life. With eight chapters, an introduction, and a conclusion, it starts with a discussion on what the author considers as his greatest achievement in life. It then continues to elaborate on topics like time and plan management, understanding personality styles, considerations for effective communication, modality and motivation, coping with life, handling conflict, and integrated concepts applied in real world experiences. In the introduction and the conclusion, the author poses a number of questions that prod readers to look closely at their own personal goals in life. The book ends with the encouragement that something can be done to attain them.

If you are one of those people who want to do something to attain happiness and success in life, Mentor Me is a book that is specially written for you. Author Ken Poirot knows exactly what he is talking about because he has the real experience of fulfilling his goals in life. The formula, GA=T+E, where GA means greatest achievement, and T and E stands for time and energy, may seem quite simple, but the road can be lined with frustration and rejection. This is where the book becomes very helpful because it contains a wealth of information on how to get where you want to be in your life. I find the book especially interesting because it mixes an effective coaching strategy with lessons in life, as well as an interactive exercise that lets the reader immediately relate the lessons learned from this book to his own life experiences.
