Missing - Dead or Alive by Peter Martin is a spine-tingling psychological thriller. Maria and Bob are stunned and devastated when their teenage son, Tim, vanishes on his way to school. Unable to comprehend him running away, they don't know what to do. When the police enter the picture, they discover a few things that the parents did not know about Tim. He'd been ditching school, using forged notes from his mother. Maria had had quite a lot of money disappear in the last month, but hadn't even considered Tim being responsible for its disappearance. Maria and Tim are both confounded as stealing and skipping school do not fit their perception of their son. As the police search and they wait, they try to maintain some semblance of normality. There are sightings reported, but nothing comes of them. Several months after Tim's disappearance, Bob and Maria are forced to move several hundred miles away. Even though there seems to be little hope of ever seeing Tim alive again, Maria never gives up hope nor her search for him. What has happened to Tim? Is he still alive and, if he is, why hasn't he contacted them?
The psychological aspect in the suspense/thriller Missing - Dead or Alive by Peter Martin is very realistic and quite hair-raising. I read this book with bated breath and didn't breathe properly until I reached the final page and put it down. Talk about sitting on the edge of your seat! The antagonist's psychosis has a realism that is frightening and memorable. This is a parent's nightmare, plus more, and I will certainly not forget this story in a hurry. This book is awesome! I really enjoyed reading it. I recommend this riveting novel to those who are fans of psychological thrillers.
