Missing Emily by Gerri LeClerc is Volume 1 of the Knoll Cottage Series. In just a week’s time, Thea will have her hard-worked for law degree. Having struggled for years as a single mum, she will finally be able to take her daughter back home, back to Cape Cod, to give her the attention she really deserves. Katherine’s daughter needs a bone marrow transplant, but there is no match for a donor and this is the only thing that can save her life. Katherine has just one hope – the illegitimate daughter of her ex-husband. That child is Emily, Thea’s daughter, but Katherine and Thea are enemies and now Katherine is worried that Thea won’t help her. Just how far will Katherine go to save the life of her daughter?
Missing Emily by Gerri LeClerc (Knoll Cottage Series Volume 1) was a great book. It had a really good storyline, but one that was light enough to really enjoy without getting too bogged down in detail. The character development was excellent, enough detail given to ensure you know exactly who the main characters are, but not so much that the rest of the story gets lost. The storyline is intriguing, and has a number of different facets to it, each of which spiral together through gut-wrenching decisions and heartache right through to the very end.
This is a compelling story, very well crafted and with a unique storyline that is going to be real to some people. The descriptions of the places make it so that you can picture them, whether you have been anywhere near Cape Cod or Boston or not, and this adds depth to the story. This is a great book for anyone who enjoys a story of suspense, as near to reality as any other fiction book I have ever read. Looking forward to book 2.
