Author Biography

I love practicing yoga, telling stories, baking treats, and exploring new places! But my biggest joy comes from being a mom to my two amazing kids—one a human and one a furry best friend! Children's books have always filled me with wonder, and I've dreamed of writing one forever. My childhood was made extra special by the love of my grandparents, especially my grandfather. Seeing that same beautiful bond blossom between my father and son filled my heart so much that I just *had* to write about it! I wanted to share all the joy and magic with the world, showing how such a close connection can truly brighten life. Plus, telling stories to my curious little son sparked something inside me and made me even more determined to make my dream come true! And that's how Molu and Naanu came to be!

Molu and Naanu: A Story About a Special Bond Between a Baby and His Grandfather is a children’s book by Tippy Bhan. The story begins with Molu, a baby boy who is about 8 months old. His mom drives him to his grandpa’s house. His grandpa, Naanu, is described as Molu’s favorite person. Without saying any words, Molu is excited to see his grandpa throughout the entire car ride. Baby Molu spends an exciting day at his grandparents’ house. He spends quality time with Naanu. From peekaboo games to diaper mishaps and lullaby-filled naps, each moment is infused with warmth and relatability. The story’s vivid descriptions and playful language bring Molu’s world to life. The pacing is ideal for young readers, with short, engaging scenes that mirror the fleeting attention spans of babies like Molu.

The words and pictures completely capture the tender and playful relationship between 8-month-old Molu and his grandfather, Naanu. Tippy Bhan’s work is a blend of humor, love, and everyday adventures. Sathomi Ekanayake’s illustrations complement the text beautifully, with soft colors and expressive characters that enhance the emotional depth. It is a perfect read for young children and their families. Molu and Naanu is a celebration of intergenerational bonds and the simplest joys of life. Through Naanu’s character, readers can see the patience and creativity of grandparents. This is shown in the distractions and soothing bedtime rituals in the story. It also captures the universal joys and challenges of babyhood, making it relatable for parents and caregivers. The dedication to Bhan’s family and Ekanayake’s niece adds a personal touch, reinforcing the story’s authenticity. I recommend Molu and Naanu for little children and their families. It’s an ideal bedtime story that teaches the magic in everyday moments and the enduring love within families.
