MotherLove by Hope Andersen is a compelling psychological thriller. It follows Rebecca Winslow as she not only grieves the loss of a stillborn child and other miscarriages but also tries to cope with a marriage on the verge of collapse and her younger sister's disappearance. Rebecca can't bounce back from the loss of her child. She even begins to regret turning her life over to her ultra-wealthy, insensitive husband, who, at times, is kind and makes her feel special, but at other times, is cruel, accusing, blaming her for things she never did. One day, she learns that a woman was found washed ashore in St. Croix, and now the woman is in a coma in the hospital. Rebecca decides to go to the island to see if the woman is her little sister. Is her sister alive? Is she indeed involved in a murder investigation, as the police say?

MotherLove is a brilliantly twisted, engrossing, skillfully plotted thriller about a grieving woman who learns to take responsibility for her happiness, find out who she is, and finally dare to let others know precisely what she thinks and where she stands. Author Hope Andersen delivers a suspenseful crime novel with intriguing characters, excellent writing, and just enough impactful twists to keep the reader engrossed and frantically turning the pages. This story of loss, regret, despair, betrayal, infidelity, a human trafficking ring, and murder deserves a spot at the top of your reading list. It's an excellent, heart-pounding account of a toxic marriage, a dysfunctional family, a non-support system, and the creation of a new life.
