My Fake Billionaire Fiancé is a contemporary romantic comedy novel written by Joslyn Westbrook. Ivy Bloom was getting nervous about her inability to cover her rent, particularly since she recently saw a Pay Rent or Vacate notice on her door. She was still committed to a career acting in Hollywood, however, and she knew she had the right stuff to succeed -- but how to convince the directors to give her the chance she needed to shine? That pressure to pay the rent made the somewhat unusual casting call she had found even more interesting. The gig was for both guys and girls, and their role would be pretending to be a fiancé. Ivy knew she could do that, and if it would keep her from having to give up her apartment and move back to her parents' home in New York, it was worth a shot.
Joslyn Westbrook’s contemporary romantic comedy novel is a clever and satisfying rom-com that I’d love to see adapted for the big screen. Westbrook’s characters are credible and finely honed, and seeing the sparks fly between Ivy Bloom and her pretend fiancé is great fun. The author does more than just focus on the two main characters, however. Chase’s family is a delight to experience, and Ivy’s enjoyment of that familial warmth is contagious. My Fake Billionaire Fiancé is well-plotted and hard to put down, even if rom-coms are not your first choice of genre. It’s smart and funny, and an all-around good read. This romantic comedy novel is most highly recommended.
