My Father: Experiencing God’s Love A-Z by Pamela A. Taylor is an inviting acrostic devotional simply written to encourage readers to exercise a reflective routine towards God’s Word, His attributes, and a habit of prayer. Each letter of the alphabet is backed by a phrase, provided Scripture, and a short prayer reflective of the traits and characteristics of God. Readers are urged to share their thoughts with the Lord through a written journal on the lines provided. This minimal layout could appeal to new believers by spurring them to develop a practice of devoting daily moments to their spiritual walk. Also, the writing provides a method for believers to discipline their focus on God daily and employ a convention of consistency in prayer time.
Pamela A. Taylor has delivered a clear-cut, unadorned format providing a down-to-earth arrangement that is easy enough for anyone to use. The uncomplicated structure gives the reader an expected presentation for each letter of the alphabet. Its straightforward message is configured as undemanding of the reader’s time and would be a great table talk starter for those with children at home. Although the book is designed for the reader to write within the blank lines given for each letter, this could easily be carried out verbally. It is perfect for busy families to reflect upon together while carrying out daily procedures or engaging in a short devotional prior to bedtime. The author’s main message is very clear - enriching your relationship with God does not have to be complicated. It can simply start with the A-B-Cs. My Father: Experiencing God’s Love A-Z would be a nice addition to a parent’s library.
