No Time For Clouds is a fun-filled adventure tale by G.L. Shy. Stormy is a young and inquisitive Cumulus cloud prone to wandering off on his own to talk to creatures in the forest below. However, his parents and Elder Nimbus warn him that a storm is coming and that he must stay with the family. Soon, Stormy's parents find themselves caught in a tornado that transports them 150 years into the past. Meanwhile, Stormy is above the forest, trying to protect his silver-furred squirrel friend, Albury Applenut. While trying to reunite with his parents, Stormy comes across Crystal, a Cirrus cloud, who also got separated from her parents during the tornado. Now, with the help of the chipmunks, Stormy must find the tornado that will take him to his parents. Can he help Crystal, too?
Featuring heartwarming friendships, talking animals and clouds, and thrilling quests across time and space, No Time For Clouds is the perfect book for preteen adventure fans. G.L. Shy has woven a fast-paced yarn that draws you in from the first page and keeps you engaged until the last. Each character is well-developed, with quirky personality traits that are bound to entertain young readers. Apart from Stormy and Crystal, Albury, the chipmunks, and Carl, a crow, steal the show whenever they are on the page. I also enjoyed the blossoming friendship between Albury and Shelly. The story teaches a valuable lesson about friendship and helping each other in times of need. There is a cliffhanger toward the end, which hints at an upcoming sequel. Overall, it's a fantastic book for young adventure readers!
