Nuts About Dinosaurs by Andrew Woolnough teaches kids about teamwork while they enjoy a cute, funny story. Meet our five squirrels – Bea, Red, Mo, Dobs, and Rocky. They are desperately looking for nuts, but these are not your average nuts. The squirrels have a huge secret; the nuts are packed with the special ingredient needed to fuel their experiments. But while they are hunting, they come across a dinosaur fossil and decide to build a time machine, just so they can go back in time to when dinosaurs roamed. But they are unprepared for the danger they find themselves in, and the fun they have in getting the answers to very important questions, such as, 'Do dinosaurs snore?' Can the squirrels survive their adventure and make it back to their own time safely?

Nuts About Dinosaurs by Andrew Woolnough is a hilarious picture book adventure that kids will absolutely love. The illustrations by Justin Runfola are bright, colorful, and just as fun as the story itself. Written in rhyme, the book starts with an introduction to our squirrel heroes before jumping into their adventures. Each squirrel has its own personality, and they are all fun characters that readers will enjoy. This is the first book in the Nuts About series, and it’s packed with nonstop action and adventure, teaching young readers about dinosaurs and how they lived. At the end of the book is a short primer on the dinosaurs mentioned, and kids are urged to find each of the six acorns hidden among the pages. This is a cool story for kids to read at any time of the day, and they’ll find it hilarious, so be prepared to read it with them over and over again! This book is exceptionally well-written and illustrated, and hopefully, there are plans to give these nutty squirrels more adventures.

Nuts About Dinosaurs by Andrew Woolnough is a very enjoyable and funny children’s picture book aimed at youngsters who are, or could be, fascinated by dinosaurs. The story starts by introducing five squirrels, Bea, Red, Mo, Dubs, and Rocky, who will play a big role in the adventure of a squirrel's lifetime. The story starts with the five squirrels finding a fossilised dinosaur footprint in the forest. They have always been fascinated by dinosaurs, and now they really want to know everything about them. Like how old, how big were they, and did they ever snore? There is only one way to know for sure – they have to build a time machine and travel back to the era of the dinosaurs themselves. However, it has to be a time machine powered by nuts because that’s the only kind of fuel squirrels have access to. So, the mad dash to collect the nuts starts. Will they be able to pull off this fantastic plan, travel back in time, and see the dinosaurs? You have to read the book to find out.

I don’t remember when I last enjoyed reading a children’s storybook this much. It has everything going for it: lovely, rhymed poems, exquisite coloured pictures by Justin Runfola, an imaginative and entertaining plot, and, of course, the dinosaurs waiting for them back in time. But it’s not safe facing the ferocious T. Rex, chasing after them, or being caught between the T. Rex and the Titanosaur as they engage in battle, so they decide to leave while they can. The story is fast-moving, funny, and should appeal to any young child with a vivid imagination who craves adventure and magic. The book ends with an educational page covering five of the best-known dinosaurs, with a small paragraph describing what we know about them. I very highly recommend Nuts About Dinosaurs by Andrew Woolnough to young readers and their parents.
