Oh No! My Hedgehog is Gone is a children's picture book written by Pearl G. Alimo and Meghan K. Alimo, with illustrations by Sayani Mukherjee. The story follows Meggie, a cheerful girl who is excited to have a pet hedgehog. She sings and twirls as she gives her pet the cute name Peggie. Meggie cannot wait to have adventures and explore the world with her new friend. She asks her dad to help her build a large cage for Peggie and even throws a big party to celebrate her new pet. However, Peggie feels overwhelmed by all the attention and curls up into a ball whenever she is touched. When Meggie decides to draw a picture of her pet, she dozes off, and during that time, Peggie slips away. When Meggie wakes up and discovers that Peggie is missing, she takes on the responsibility of finding her pet, embarking on a search that tests her patience and courage.

Oh No! My Hedgehog is Gone takes readers on a fun adventure while teaching them lessons about responsibility, bravery, and kindness. Meggie is an adorable girl with a friendly personality, and her joy at having a new pet is relatable. The book addresses themes such as the fear of new places and people from a pet's perspective, as well as Meggie's fear of bugs, ants, and spooky environments. Children will learn the importance of being patient with their new pets and how to help them feel comfortable. They will also gain the courage to confront their fears of the outdoors and discover creative solutions to problems. Pearl G. Alimo and Meghan K. Alimo effectively convey the messages in an entertaining and engaging manner. The inclusion of a song at the end adds a heartfelt touch, and the colorful illustrations beautifully bring the characters and their world to life. I recommend adding this book to your children's reading list because it is an enjoyable story that teaches valuable lessons about bravery, patience, and pet care.
