In Jesse Whipple's On Emerald Wings, Andi is a girl raised in the Emerald Forest by her godmother. Her life is closely tied to the earth and animals around her. After some time, she begins to notice she can somehow connect with plants and animals through a rare kind of magic. Her life then changes after dangerous creatures suddenly attack the forest, putting both the people and wildlife at risk. Around this time, the Green Wizard, Verridon, shows up and tells her that more trouble is close by. He asks Andi to help protect the forest and keep it secure. When she tries using her powers against the dark forces, things don’t actually turn out the way she expected. She then begins to understand that her place in the world might be bigger than she initially thought.

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple is a children's fantasy that blends adventure with a thoughtful look at power and bravery. I admire how the story takes its time building Andi's world, helping readers understand her life in detail, and then showing the consequences of her decisions. Her choices matter, which gives the plot tension and keeps you curious about her story arc. The author guides you through Andi's world carefully, so you never become lost. Each event lands in a way that shows its effect on Andi and the other characters around her. The action scenes are thrilling, and I could easily picture them in my mind. I connected with the characters, especially Andi, because they act like genuine people. In the end, I was left with a good sense of Andi’s growth throughout the book. Fans of children’s fantasies filled with magic and forest adventures will love it.

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple is a wonderful fantasy adventure for younger readers. Hidden away in the Emerald Forest, Andi knows nothing of the Raven Queen and war in the Realm. All she knows is love, fun, and the forest. The day she rescues the Emerald Stag is the day all that changes. A magical creature, the stag brings Andi’s hidden and unknown powers to the fore and pushes her straight into the center of a dark, magical war. It’s her job to save the Realm from destruction, and the only way she can do that is to get hold of her powers. Along the way, she’ll make new friends, go on quests, and face enemies she must beat to bring the light back to the Realm. Can Andi fulfill her destiny?

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple is a truly imaginative story, filled with all the elements you would hope to see—magic, fantasy, mythical creatures, and quests, not to mention a whole lot of fun along the way. The main character, Andi, is well developed, a young girl whom readers will relate to and will want to be, while the remaining characters are equally well developed and likable. Each one evolves and grows throughout the story, and the writing is so compelling that you’ll feel like you are part of the story. This is a magical fantasy story, but it feels real, and you’ll experience all the emotions the story evokes. It’s also about emotional growth, courage, and the importance of good friends. It’s the first part of a new series, and I recommend it to anyone who wants an escape from the harsh realities of life, if just for a while, and not just younger readers, either.

On Emerald Wings is a children's adventure by Jesse Whipple. Andreana (Andi) grew up as a happy child in the Emerald Forest. Raised by her godmother, Althea, Andi could speak to animals, and she loved nothing more than roaming the woods with her best friend, Rowan, a shapeshifting pooka who loves pranks. But after she uses Green magic to ward off some hexenwolves from devouring the Emerald Stag, her life turns upside down. Alongside Verridon, the Green Wizard, and Rowan, she suddenly finds herself on a quest to the Crystal Mountains. Andi also trains under Verridon to master her new powers, while the tyrannical Raven Queen's forces attack the village of Ankeny Hill. However, when the Raven Queen's minions attack the city of Oakfield, Andi and her newfound allies unite to make a stand.

Action, adventure, and magic lace the pages of On Emerald Wings. For anyone who is a fan of books such as The Lord of the Rings, this book is a must-read. Author Jesse Whipple has built a truly magnificent world, featuring magical creatures and lore that hook you in from the get-go. I was absorbed in the story from the first page to the last. It's a fast-paced and immensely entertaining plot. But the main draw of this book is its characters. These characters are not only likable but also very relatable. Andi is someone young readers will find easy to root for. Verridon might remind readers of iconic fantasy characters like Gandalf or Dumbledore. All in all, it's a brilliant start to a fantasy series. I will happily recommend it to both children and young adults.

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple follows Andi, a young orphan who realizes she has a special power called Green magic. With it, she can speak to plants and animals—a gift that slowly shapes her identity. She grows up under the care of her godmother, Althea, a private and strong magic user, and spends her days with companions like Zalaryn, a talking horse, and Rowan, her shapeshifting friend. As the story progresses, Andi has to learn how to control her powers. She faces dangerous hexenwolves and starts to see the real cost and consequences that come with using magic over time. As threats grow from the Raven Queen, a dangerous new ruler, Andi must decide for herself who she wants to be. Will she discover her true destiny and save her kingdom in the end?

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple is an exciting and engaging children's fantasy that explores bravery, friendship, and self-discovery. I was drawn in by the innovative storytelling and the way this intriguing, magical realm takes shape. I liked seeing Andi grow through her mistakes and struggles; it made her story easier to connect with. The author does a strong job of balancing action sequences with the unfolding magical elements. I also loved the humorous interactions between characters such as Rowan and Zalaryn, which made the adventure more enjoyable. I think readers who adore magical worlds full of adventure and brave young heroes will gravitate to this fascinating story. Overall, it held my attention the entire time and left me curious about what would happen next. Very highly recommended.

On Emerald Wings by Jesse Whipple is an epic adventure that takes readers into an extraordinary world of magic. The Realm faces disaster as the Raven Queen’s army is preparing to take action. The only thing that has kept the people safe and the lands from being overrun by tyranny is the designs created by the Green Wizard. Meanwhile, Andi enjoys the comforts and seclusion of the Emerald Forest, where she spends her day blissfully unaware of wars or royalty. All she knows is the love and guidance of her godmother and the delightful antics of her best friend. But soon the truth finds Andi as the Realm depends on her to keep from being consumed by darkness, and she must understand her developing abilities as she embarks on an epic quest.

The story world is filled with fantastical creatures and impending war, creating a backdrop for magical quests and epic adventure. These elements give a sense of wonder to the story that lets you see the beauty of things the way Andi does. Imagination is brought to life through vivid writing, which gives the story a childlike essence. Andi is spunky and curious, which are qualities that drive her to never give up and to find joy in everything that she does. The story is ideal for younger readers. Magic plays an important role, infused into every aspect of the plot, from the adventure, such as facing raven monsters, to the shapeshifting powers of the characters. Jesse Whipple subtly incorporates the importance of healing the forest and living in harmony with nature into the adventure. The world comes to life in On Emerald Wings, with intricate details and magic, creatures, and quirky characters taking you on an epic adventure.
