On Two Legs and Three Wheels is an inspiring travel memoir by Cary D. Lowe and his wife, Trish, as they journey around the world despite Trish's mobility issues due to multiple sclerosis. The book conveys determination in surmounting the obstacles of travel through creative thinking, perseverance, and a dash of humor, and it chronicles their adventures through bustling cities and beautiful landscapes. Lowe takes us through twenty countries and fifteen states, recounting moments of pristine beauty, daunting challenges, and incredible kindness from strangers. The story addresses the logistics of travel for the disabled but equally celebrates cultural experiences, friendships, and the idea that life can be an adventure at any stage. Through humorous stories and fine writing, the reader receives an encouraging and enlightening look into resilience and the joy of travel.

Cary D. Lowe's writing is entertaining, enlightening, warm, and often funny. The pacing is perfect, with exciting adventures and introspective insights standing in contrast to one another. The narrative remains deeply personal yet universally relevant. The people, Trish especially, are incredibly well-realized, making their journey inspiring yet intimate. Themes of flexibility, tenacity, and the acceptance of chaos underpin the memoir and leave readers with a sense of respect and motivation. Each place comes alive through Lowe's lens: he takes readers on tour with them, allowing them to see, hear, and feel what they encounter. The book brought back memories of my grandmother, who loved to travel in her wheelchair despite having arthritis. Reading about the joy of traveling brought back memories of her. On Two Legs and Three Wheels is highly recommended for travelers, those with personal struggles, and anyone who believes that adventures never stop.
