P on Your Pants, written by Mr. Steve (Steve Fowler) and illustrated by Robert Cote, is a playful and creative children’s book that takes readers on a funny journey through the alphabet, highlighting the letter P. The story follows Pete as he discovers the letter P in the most surprising and sometimes silly places, from pretzels to puddles, and even on his pants. The book’s lively tone and inventive scenes make it an engaging read for young children, sparking curiosity and laughter as they explore the world of letters. The recurring imagery of the letter P, cleverly woven into everyday objects and situations, entertains and encourages young readers to look for letters in their own environment.
The book’s humor truly shines, bringing smiles with its silly moments like P on a penguin’s belly and pizza covered in P, keeping kids laughing from start to finish. The lively conversations, like the pigeons joking about “people problems,” add a touch of charm and cleverness. Steve Fowler’s experience as a former children’s librarian clearly shows in how he has penned a story that’s both fun and educational. It gently introduces young readers to the idea that letters are everywhere, sparking an early love for language and reading. Fowler’s passion for the alphabet clearly comes through, making learning feel like an exciting game. P on Your Pants is an excellent addition to any child’s bookshelf. It’s a perfect combination of humor, imagination, and learning that makes it a book kids will want to read again and again.
