Rachel worked hard to establish her Cape Cod beach bar, The Palms on the Cape, and her whole life is wrapped up in it. The staff, regulars, and her best friend, Carlos, are her family. However, circumstances change when a business school study group composed of wealthy professionals takes an interest in The Palms. The night they walk into her bar is the turning point in Rachel’s life. Her entire world becomes tangled in secrets and lies, including her bar and her relationships. On the verge of losing everything, can Rachel unravel the mess to save The Palms and rescue her heart?

Palms on the Cape by Jenn Bouchard is irresistible women’s fiction. This heartwarming book has an engaging plotline with a nice story arc that portrays the integrity of the slow emergence of love and long-destined romance. The relationships between the characters felt genuine, and it was easy to fall for Carlos and his enduring patience. Rachel is an ideal protagonist who faced life-altering situations. Her family dynamics changed, her business was threatened, and her personal relationships were taking a beating. It was heartening to watch her confront and overcome the dramatic changes in her life and accept the reshaping and evolution of her past. The story is compelling and speaks to everyone who loves what they have but dares to dream of expanding their boundaries.
