Laura lived in a world where humans are in danger from Panthans. You can recognize a Panthan by their green irises. “They looked like humans, they spoke like humans, but they sure weren’t humans.” The US government created a group called the Woden’s to protect the humans. The Wodens were ruthless and did not care who they hurt even if it was another human.

The Panthans were originally protectors of life. They did not feed off him humans. They followed God’s rules but a sect crossed over to the human realm. They had a strong blood lust and played with their victims. V captured Laura and infused her with his blood; she was no longer human.

The Panthans are angels charged with protecting the Garden of Eden. One took a break at the wrong time and the Serpent climbed the tree and tempted Even. When Adam and Eve were thrown from the garden, God punished the Panthans. They follow the rules of God and consider themselves to be superior beings.

This is a rather complex but entertaining story. Romance, suspense, adventure all combine to make this fantasy novel a hit. The characters exhibit spunk and a sense of humor. I quickly turned the pages eager to see what would happen next. Excellent!
