Despite being the captain of the chess club, Elijah still struggles to fit in and find acceptance among his classmates at school. His novel approach to every matter makes it dull for the jocks and the popular kids like Kai, who instead prefer to involve themselves with the hip crowd while staying socially relevant by using any insane stunt that comes to mind. When Isabelle, a new girl, starts attending their school, Elijah sees a kindred spirit in her and is prepared to do whatever it takes to get close to her, but does that include walking into the Robinson house down the street with its fair share of ghost stories and mystery? Only time will tell in M.H. Altis’s Phantoms of Eternity: Haunted House.

M.H. Altis’s Phantoms of Eternity is a subtle blend of science fiction and horror. The character development is superb. Altis carefully crafts intriguing origin stories for each character, using the Robinson house as the glue that binds them all. He captures the dynamics between the teens using their dialogue, which swings from playful competition to flirting. He maintains an edgy spark that keeps intrigue and mystery fans engaged from start to finish. The elaborate storytelling adds a time-traveling dimension to classic horror, which stylishly connects the dots between the clues and gives the narrative a unique feel that adventure and suspense lovers will appreciate. Phantoms of Eternity: Haunted House may be a novella, but Altis delivers a one-of-a-kind adventure with the potential for more extraordinary things in the future.
