J.C. and her angel friend Lawrence Smith (Smitty), who is from the spiritual world, are time traveling friends who have experienced many adventures in the company of each other. Together they go back in time to different periods in history where their assignment from the spiritual world is to save someone in the past, the present, or in the future. On J.C.‘s eighteenth birthday, Smitty comes to her for help with a new special assignment. This time around, J.C.’s and Smitty’s mission is to time travel back to the early 1600’s in Plymouth Rock Massachusetts. They are sent there to help aid the pilgrims and give them friendship after their long tough winter. They are also there in Plymouth Rock to help two special pilgrim children by the names of Catherine and Pierce from succumbing to the same illness that took both of their parents and some of the other Pilgrim settlers. With the special angel pin that Catherine has been giving for guidance and wisdom, and with the special healing powers that Smitty possesses, the two of them travel by the Starlight Laser Express (palms touching together) to work their “magic” in history. During her adventures with Smitty, Catherine meets some very special friends she is destined to meet. She then comes to realize that their lives are all intertwined and that they are there to assist her in her journey to the Netherworld and in the world of William Shakespeare.

I enjoyed reading author Jan Frazier’s adventure book "Pilgrims, Indians, Shakespeare, Oh My!" The book is laced with a supernatural quality that weaved factual history into real life settings, which are also peppered with a lot of humor despite the dire circumstances that the characters face. The book is a fun-filled adventure into our historical past that is filled with very believable and likeable characters. I really liked the Nurse in the world of William Shakespeare. The good Nurse from the Shakespeare play, "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" escapes from the Netherworld, is under the influence of another evil character, and is possessed by evil. The Nurse character causes chaos, havoc and evil in other periods in history, and J.C. and her new friends have to help save her. It was very amusing, fun to read, and it made me laugh often. In addition, even though I have not read any of author Jan Frazier’s previous books in her series, I was thoroughly entertained and captivated by her time travelers’ saga and I hope to read some of her earlier books in the future.
