In the book "Prayer Never Fails: Especially During Trials", Berney Dorton uses her own life struggles as an example for how we should always pray, even in our most difficult trials and heartaches. Ms. Dorton shares with readers the heartbreaking stories of their 21 year old nephew who was shot and killed in a hit and run roadside shooting, of another young nephew whose family was tragically lost, and of the loss of other family members. She also deals with the sickness of her child and the heartache she faced there, the medical issues she went through, as well as other very difficult trials and troubles faced by other family members and friends. On the one hand, this is a sad and heartbreaking book to read because of the tragic happenings in the author’s life. But, through it all, she turns to God through prayer for strength. She starts the book off explaining prayer to us. She discusses things like what prayer is and why we should pray. She shares many scripture verses from the Bible on prayer and the examples of people praying in the Bible. From there she begins sharing her stories and shows how prayer carries her and her family through the heartbreaking and difficult troubles and trials they had to deal with.
Berney Dorton wrote this book from the heart and as I read it, I could feel her pain during her trials, but I could also feel her faith in God. Instead of letting her difficult times crush her, she used prayer for peace, comfort and strength, growing her faith in God, and drawing strength from Him. I highly recommend this book for anyone to read, because we all go through these times at one time or another. "Prayer Never Fails: Especially During Trials" is a wonderful book to help you through your difficult times.
