Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents is a work of action-packed science fiction penned by author B. A. Vonsik, and is the third book in the Primeval Origins Saga. Continuing the exploration of the concept of hidden history, wherein all the myths and legends of humanity once had real origins and actually existed, we once again encounter Nikki, the paleo-archaeology graduate, on her journey to discover the creation of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In this instalment, the exploration turns to the deadly and dangerous snakes of ancient legends: the watchers of humanity who see the corruption and tyranny that is slowly choking the modern world.

Primeval Origins is a conceptually fascinating series which is certain to draw in readers who are interested in the world of mythology and its potential origins in ancient times. On top of this dramatic draw, author B. A. Vonsik writes with an epic atmosphere, calling up old echoing voices with their speeches, proverbs, and warnings as Nikki discovers the frightening reality of the Old Serpents. I found the plot as twisty and dangerous as the snakes themselves, with a well-balanced pace of thoughtful discovery and intense moments of adventure. What results is a superb story told with a cinematic eye for scope and detail, and a leading heroine ready to open her mind to all the possibilities that history has to offer. Overall, Primeval Origins: Rise of the Serpents comes very highly recommended for fantasy, science fiction and mythology fans of all ages.

Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents by B.A. Vonsik is the third book in the Primeval Origins series. The newest installment continues to explore a hidden history full of ancient beings, dangerous threats, and stories of heroes. Rogaan is stuck under the rule of the tyrant Kirral and when he's entrusted with a poisoned knife, he has to do whatever it takes to survive. Life under Kirral is cruel and when his friend suffers at the tyrant's hand, Rogaan is driven to take action. A mysterious stranger saves his life then whisks Rogaan and his friend Pax on a ship setting sail for an unknown adventure, but as he learns the true journey ahead he discovers a renewed sense of purpose. Aren sets out on a ship, forced to work as a servant, and discovers a bond to a gem that presents him with an unexpected opportunity. He and Rogaan soon cross paths as a threat make itself known.

So much has happened since Nikki first made her discovery with much left undiscovered though this story veers away from her. She still finds plenty of trouble but her role in the story opens up another danger for her to face as the story unfolds to the end. Rogaan and Aren are the primary characters whose journeys eventually sync back together as the two find themselves on two ships with similar goals. When the story begins, Rogaan is sharing a space with Pax and the two are living entrapped under a tyrant. This confinement gives them a chance to explore their friendship as they band together in horrible circumstances during a journey to survive and adventures where they face many dangers. Rogaan's story weaves into Aren's as he embarks on his own journey that opens up a new path for his destiny.

B.A. Vonsik continues to explore a vivid history and a detailed world with dangerous beings and plenty of surprises awaiting the characters around every turn. You never know what to expect with each chapter keeping you guessing. The language is fitted to this world with Vonsik capturing your attention with dialogue specific to various characters and their use of speech helps create diverse characters that further shape the world. The characters are on quests with each of their journeys working together where they face tyranny and dangerous beasts with each one taking you on an unforgettable adventure. Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents is an epic tale of adventure that explores a unique history, rich mythology, dangerous journeys, stunning sea-dragons, and a surprising ending.

Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents by B.A. Vonsik is the story of Nikki, a paleo-archeologist graduate student who is now playing a vital role in the survival of the human race. The apocalypse is approaching fast, the Horsemen are bringing it and it seems as if Nikki has a part to play in order to save her people. On the surface, she does not have the power or the tools that can help her become what humanity wants her to be. But she has one thing that no one was expecting; she has the knowledge of the past that has the potential to save them all. She is ready to do whatever it takes, but will she ever get the chance?

Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents by B.A. Vonsik is the conclusion to the Primeval Origins Saga Series. I have an undying love for mythology and epic fantasies, so you can imagine how much I loved this one. I was initially a little hesitant at reading this novel as I have not read the previous novels in the series, but I had zero issues with catching up and becoming invested in the story. This novel was all about retracing your roots and learning from the past generations. The ominous atmosphere, the thrilling pace, and the exceptional characters kept my attention until the very end. I enjoyed Nikki and her determination. She knew her responsibility and understood what she had to do. The action, the adventure and the sheer brilliance of the narrative was enough for me to read the story in a single go and love every single second of it. A riveting conclusion!

Rise of Serpents by B.A. Vonsik is book 3 in the Primeval Origins series. A science fiction novel, it continues the epic fantasy adventure of mankind's origins and hidden history. Nikki and her otherworldly accomplices, including Rogaan and Aren, attend the Risen Cove Hotel where a Transhuman Mixed Martial Arts Tournament and cosplay event is taking place. They come under attack but the group's mix of fantastical powers holds off the aggressors. Nikki is subdued and blacks out. The story moves to another time and place where we witness Rogaan's dark and dangerous journey from a brutal prison island to Anza, the gateway city to The Blood Lands, the mountainous home of the Ancients, a place of legends, as named by King Darak in 2036, over 500 years ago, and an almost certain death.

B.A. Vonsik pens an ambitious storyline with incredible creativity and attention to detail, enabling the reader to escape into an exceptionally magical fantasy world. Hang on to your seat for a whirlwind journey with a mythical ride through myth, legend, biblical prophecy and the end times. The main part of the book is taken up with a difficult expedition undertaken by Rogaan and his companions, who are threatened with a dark and dangerous menace at every turn. Rogaan is a richly satisfying character, as are most of the cast. I enjoyed all the main protagonists and many of the others! Rise of Serpents takes the reader on a truly mystical exploration of another time and place. It is strongly recommended to begin the series from book one for the full Primeval Origins experience!

Nikki faces the ancient and deadly terrors of legend and is more than prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed but can she escape the clutches of death in time?

Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents by B A Vonsik was an intriguing story that made me wish I had read the rest of the series. Despite having no prior knowledge of the characters or the story, I found it quite easy to grasp the story and there was enough information to bring me up to speed. This is a fascinating tale, really well-written and with some cool characters. There is plenty of action here, loads of adventure and enough nail-biting suspense that kept me well and truly hooked on the story. The story moved at a steady pace, with the tension building up, and it ended with a bang. Be prepared to meet some fantastic and fantastical creatures along the way - a truly unique and inspiring story. If you love stories about legends, myths, and mythical creatures, you are guaranteed to love this but I would recommend reading the entire series.

Primeval Origins: Rise of Serpents is the third book in the Primeval Origins series from author B A Vonsik, which asks the burning question “what if all our legends and myths about man’s creation are true?” Rise of Serpents takes us from the near future, the 2030s, when man is not only experimenting with genetic enhancement but is also openly embracing the idea of cybernetics, also known as transhumanism, back to the origins of humanity when gods and ancients strode the world with their power and domination over all living things. Two men, Rogaan, the half-Tellen, searching for his father who is held captive and Aren, the Evendiir, are thrown together as allies on a mission that perhaps neither of them fully understands nor grasps the enormity of the foes they will face. Both of them are stronger than they realize and they will need to be as they come face to face with some of the most powerful beings and creatures of these ancient times. They must face and defeat those that seek what they possess, including the most feared of them all, the one who calls himself The Vassal. The legendary Shunned, Luntanus Alum, is holding Rogaan’s father prisoner and it will take all of the pair’s Agni magic to find a way forward.

This story is definitely one for the reader who seeks true epic fantasy. Author B A Vonsik has created a world in which all of our most fantastical nightmares and legends about the past and the origins of humanity have come true. Evil gods and powerful, magical rulers hold sway over a cowering populace. Simply put, this is the eternal battle of good vs evil played out on an epic stage across epochs. I haven’t read the first two volumes and, in many ways, I wish I had as I felt a little lost at times as the characters, familiar to readers already no doubt, emerged and took their place in the narrative. The author has a superb and engaging style which keeps the reader riveted and turning the pages. The fight scenes (and there are plenty of them) were incredibly descriptive and realistic. One could almost hear and feel the magical power in the air. I particularly enjoyed the relationship and angst between Rogaan, his “former” friend Pax, and Pax’s sister Suhd. More than the epic fantasy, for me, this was one of the main cores of the story, along with the developing friendship between Rogaan and Aren. If epic fantasy is your thing, then I have little doubt this book will sustain you and give you plenty to think about.
