Jack Alexander, his lover Kara Dubois, and his younger sister Sarah, all agents of Quotient, a global spy agency, were vacationing in San Diego when they received a call from Martin Austin, the founder and leader of Quotient. According to Martin, the president of the United States had reliable intel on a plot by an eccentric billionaire to attack high-ranking world leaders using a new generation bioweapon and needed the help of Quotient to stop the looming threat. Quotient agents have to race against time with their lives on the line as they are sucked into deadly power play games orchestrated by a clandestine crime syndicate called the Matrix. Find out more in Gregory R Simpson’s Quantum Time (Entangled in Time): The Quotient Series Book 2.

Lovers of time travel, sci-fi, and espionage thrillers will not be able to peel their eyes off this action-packed, fast-paced page-turner. The author whisked me away from reality and dropped me in the middle of a world exploding with magnificent imagination. Gregory expertly unfolded the storyline with a double timeline, effortlessly giving it a beautiful flow. The spell-binding plot twists and subtle tone had me on the edge of my seat. The evocative depictions hurled me into a future world where AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and Quantum Computing ran the world, yet all life on earth was at the mercy of the darkness that comes from money, power, greed, and deception. The author brought out the cast’s emotions and complex traits, allowing me to connect with them. This is the type of story that has you holding your breath as the protagonists face invincible villains, all the while treating you to brilliant adventure, drama, thrills, and romance. Despite being the second in the series, Gregory R Simpson’s Quantum Time is a stand-alone read.

The Quotient team members must step up to the plate once more when they discover a mad billionaire has developed a potent weapon that will kill its target and everyone else closely related to that person. Their assignment is simple: find and eliminate the threat. But before they can complete the mission, they discover there is more to this insidious plot than meets the eye; a global event is on the horizon that may change the world as we know it if not acted upon quickly. Jack and his colleagues may have finally met their match in Gregory R. Simpson's Quantum Time.

Quantum Time tantalizes science fiction purists' senses. The storyline combines a fresh take on time travel with the growing impact of artificial intelligence on our daily lives to create an engaging spy thriller. The character development is deep, with detailed information on each individual's origin story, especially their potential romantic ties, which becomes critical to understanding some of their motivations in the latter stages of the plot. The combat episodes feature great attention to detail, making for realistic car chases and sword fights that captivate readers. The dialogue flows naturally between the characters, and the use of a gradually escalating pace gives the story a sense of urgency that fans of espionage love to see in a well-written piece. Credit must go to Gregory R. Simpson for fluidly weaving together seemingly unconnected subplots across timelines into a single adventure that is as informative as it is exciting.

Quantum Time is a work of fiction in the thriller, science fiction, and espionage genres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience. Penned by author Gregory R. Simpson, the plot follows sibling spies Jack and Sarah from Quotient, a global independent spy agency, as they interrupt their vacation to tackle two different threats. This globe-trotting, techno-spy thriller spans two timelines: the near future of 2028 and the far future of 2050. As they race against time to save both the present and the future, the novel features richly detailed locations and today's technologies extrapolated into tomorrow. Imagination, detail, and clever plotting crafted an exhilarating sci-fi read that kept me on the edge of my seat from cover to cover. Accompanied by its own Spotify playlist as an extra layer of atmosphere, the novel promises readers an action-packed and immersive adventure.

The dual timelines of 2028 and 2050 were seamlessly intertwined with great pacing and clear shifts between them, providing a fascinating glimpse into a plausible future shaped by advanced technology that was detailed and packed with discovery. Jack and Sarah's dynamic as sibling spies is a brilliant central relationship, making their interactions both relatable and compelling, and a lot less predictable than the typical romantic couples so often at the center of novels like this. The richly detailed settings and high-stakes missions made the narrative vivid and immersive. I appreciated how the plot extrapolated current technologies with great imaginative vision from the author, creating a realistic yet thrilling vision of the future that held true to its central logic. The accompanying Spotify playlist was a unique touch, enhancing the read with some absolutely brilliant tunes (Geronimo is already an old favorite of mine, and perfect for this tale). Overall, Quantum Time was an action-packed, thought-provoking read that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment in Jack and Sarah's adventures, and I would certainly recommend it.
