Rag Doll (A Jana Lane Mystery) by Joe Cosentino is a sleuth murder mystery story about an actress who solves mysteries. Wherever Jana Lane is, murders seem to follow. Jana Lane is making a comeback after being out of the movies for several years. Now she is starring in a new television series. An old friend, who is an ex-detective, and her young son are her co-stars. The first day on the set, there is a lot of tension between the guest star and some of the other actors. The guest star's agent is poisoned and dies while a scene is being shot. Before Jana or the police can figure out a suspect, there is another death that is questionable in nature. Who is the killer? There is some homophobic hostility between the guest star's entourage and the other actors. Could it be one of them?
Rag Doll (A Jana Lane Mystery) by Joe Cosentino is a stimulating murder mystery story about a murder on a television production set. It takes place in the nineteen-eighties and for those of us who were there, it is a great blast from the past. It was interesting to find out what happens behind the scenes on a production set. It was informative, entertaining and fun. I love and admire the main character, Jana Lane. Not only is she a great amateur detective, she is a remarkable woman with an open and giving heart. This is a wonderful cozy mystery that warms the heart, despite the fact that it involves death. This is an amazing murder mystery with a spectacular heroine, and I recommend it to all readers who are cozy mystery fans. Although this book is part of a series, it is a great stand-alone. Love, love, love this book! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to read and review it. I am looking forward to more Jana Lane stories in the future!
