Rangeela Tales: Book 2 by Gita V. Reddy is the next in the series of adventures of Rangeela the parrot and Navjyot who rescues it and wins his trust. Rangeela is an exceptional parrot with special skills and soon he and Navjyot become good friends. This story begins with the disappearance of Sanjiv and Suhani. When Navjyot and Nimi go to school they realize another child is also missing. No one in school could concentrate properly and the Principal calls for a parent-teacher meeting that evening. Along with their grandfather, Rangeela also goes to school. There he recognizes the voice of one vendor who was calling out, 'Guavas! Mangoes! Jamuns!' What happens next will keep readers entertained till the very end. The other stories in the book will also give readers a peek into the lives of Rangeela, Robber, Navjyot, Nimi and their adventures, and entertain them as much as the first story.
All the characters in the story are adorable. It's a good bedtime read and can also be used for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The story has a little bit of all the ingredients which make it a good book - fun, friendship, adventure, and mystery. I found the encounters between Rangeela and Robber fun and engaging. The stories are simple and delightful and will make readers want to know more about the adventures of Rangeela, Robber, Navjyot, and Nimi. The Fun Facts at the end of the book are informative and give readers interesting facts about parrots. A good collection of short stories for kids.
