Reena Has Real Wings is an inspirational children's book written by Colleen M Bratley and illustrated by Diego D. Quiroga. It is about Reena, a girl with a smile that brings joy and love, and a heart full of kindness and thoughts of others. She also loves nature and animals, and enjoys spending time fishing with her dad. Reena is not like any ordinary child; she has incredible wings. Her wings are very colorful and captivating. Not all people can see Reena's wings; however, when you hug her, you will feel their gentle touch and the warmth they offer. Reena’s life and actions all encourage people to love one another and care for each other. She reminds anyone she meets that angels live among us and that God has sent them to bring us happiness and peace.
Reena Has Real Wings is a beautiful story with a powerful message about children’s innocence and the boundless love they have for everyone and the world around them. This book is particularly touching because it is a tribute to Colleen M Bratley’s grandniece, whose legacy still lives on despite her physical absence. This story is a comforting reminder to anyone who has ever lost a loved one that their love remains. The narrative is poetic with a consistent flow that makes it engaging. Christian themes include the importance of the helpers that God sends us in times of grief and pain. The colorful illustrations look heavenly and capture the comforting and enchanting nature of angels. The consistent pink theme gives a warm and blissful feel. I really enjoyed this book. It is the kind you want to read with your kids or share with your family. It reminds us how important it is to continue showing love and kindness to everyone.
