In "Relentless", John Bevere has a common-sense, motivational book for those wanting direction on adhering to the teachings of the Bible. This particularly applies in times of stress when we are vulnerable and prone to looking for other means than prayer and belief to lessen our burdens. Examples are straight from the Scriptures and grounded in no-nonsense advice which helps the reader to adhere to Christian principles at times when despair and discouragement are the norm rather than the exception.

Bevere warns and promises the reader that we are basically in charge of the earth through the decisions we make about ourselves and others. He says our powers are a permanent gift from God, not to be taken lightly and not to be abused. The author warns that humans basically make one of two mistakes in their daily lives and that failure to be on the lookout may result in unnecessary stress. The first problem is when we become hypervigilant and basically "look for the devil behind every bush." That approach makes us unnecessarily cautious of good people who could help steer and support us. The second error in approaching life is when we fail to exhibit due diligence and we ignore signs from the enemy which could end up protecting us or making our decisions easier. There is a great deal of denial in this approach.

For anyone struggling with bad things that have happened to good people, this book is a good read. The author does not mince words and he holds the reader accountable for personal decisions. In the end, doing the right thing along with relentless belief and prayer will make the reader stronger in belief and action.
