The Adventures of Rumplepimple by Suzanne DeWitt Hall is a charming book about a misunderstood little terrier. Rumplepimple lives with his two moms and his sister, a snarky cat named Chicken. Sometimes, Rumplepimple gets into trouble when he thinks his moms should be excited he can do something. Other times, he is simply being a dog. When Mom can't deal with Rumplepimple's boundless energy, she takes him for a ride. He is excited! He loves everything about going places. The sights, the smells, the noises all excite Rumplepimple. Today, they stop at the market. Rumplepimple finds it strange that everyone is pushing around large dog crates on wheels. While Mom is parking, Rumplepimple hears a strange noise coming from inside the store. A distressed noise. Someone is in trouble! He decides he must investigate. With quick thinking, the little terrier escapes from his mom and starts on an adventure of his own. Will he save the little girl in distress? Will he find Mom again? Or is he lost and all alone?

Rumplepimple (The Adventures of Rumplepimple, Volume 1) by Suzanne DeWitt Hall was fun to read. Being a doggy mommy myself, and having had a terrier, I understood both Rumplepimple's and his mom's viewpoints! The book is enhanced by beautiful and fun illustrations that help bring the story to life. Rumplepimple is a very mischievous dog, with a naughty kitty sister to egg him into getting into even more trouble. The author did an excellent job of describing the relationship between the cat and the dog, and between his moms and himself. Rumplepimple is a cute book to be enjoyed by the whole family. I will also be looking for more Rumplepimple adventures!
