Sands Of Time by Bruce A. Sarte is the story of Sam, who is trying to cope after his wife and two children are killed in a car wreck, and the only thing that seems to help is keeping a bottle of Jack Daniels beside him. As the owner of a seaside resort and bar, he does have reputable employees who try and help pull him out of his slump; but it doesn't work until he starts seeing things: visions and a mysterious car. Are his wife and children still alive or is the bottle playing tricks with his mind? When a mysterious woman appears at the inn for a week’s vacation, they all feel she is trouble except for Sam. Just what part does she play in all of this and what about the help? Are they as reliable as he thinks? As he comes close to finding out the truth of what happened to his wife and children, will his life or those close around him be in danger?
This is quite a gripping story with a plot that, with its twists and turns, will keep the reader involved right up to the dramatic ending. I like the author's style where the middle of a sentence starts a new paragraph; it gives a distinct feeling to the book. I do have to say that the book is somewhat sexually sensual in spots, which would make the novel geared more to the adult readers. It has an excellent plot, the characters are very easy to become connected with, and the suspense will will keep hold of you to the end.
