Author Biography

C.H. Norwood is a pretty normal guy, a father, a son, a brother. If he didn't enjoy spending his time with dragons, demons, warriors, assassins, mages, and gods to tech geniuses, government officials, African royalty, pop stars, and aliens he could make a great neighbor. As it the universe stands though, he is a junky for action, whimsy, and badassery.

With heavy influences from Quentin Tarantino, Japanese Anime, and African culture his works are filled with gore, fantastical fighting, spiritual struggles and metaphysics with a health dose sarcasm and tasteless humor. Readers that enjoy stories by R.A. Salvatore, David Dalglish, Anthony Ryan, or George R.R. Martin will definitely enjoy C.H Norwood also.

Just know, that every time he leaves his laptop, there is blood on his hands and a smirk on his face.

Wow! Just, wow! That’s exactly what I thought when I finished reading Scion of Sin by new author C.H. Norwood. This book gripped me from the very start, and I couldn’t stop reading it until the wee hours of the morning when I turned the last page. This is the story of protagonist Krylan Starguard, an outcast among his Silosian kind because he was born with red hair and eyes, as he comes into his own and begins to realize the very dark power he holds within himself. Unsure of his power’s origins, Krylan knows that he must work to find out what makes him who he is, and before the darkness overtakes him and changes him forever. If you want to find out if he’s successful, read Scion of Sin. You certainly won’t regret it!

I loved Scion of Sin. Loved. It. How’s that for a review? Well, it’s definitely how I felt about this amazing book by author C.H. Norwood. For a new author, he has done a wonderful job in several areas often lacking in works of fantasy, namely, character development and scene setting. Norwood’s world creation skills are second to none, and readers will feel as if they had simply slipped through the pages and into Krylan’s world. Krylan himself is incredibly vividly described, and readers will definitely have a clear picture in their minds of him and the life he inhabits. Any reader who enjoys fantasy or science fiction should absolutely read this book, and I feel confident in giving this book my highest recommendation. I look forward to reading the next books in the series, and hope that author C.H. Norwood has a gift of writing quickly!

Scion of Sin: A Dark Fantasy Adventure Series by C.H. Norwood is a compelling fantasy that is absorbing in the dark sense of the word, a work that grips readers with a darkness that is intoxicating. Imagine a man who has been the laughing stock of his community, always craving attention without getting any, a man who has lived on the fringes of his own society. Imagine that this man discovers a mysterious power that could bring others under his control and compel them to show him the respect and attention he deserves.

Such a man exists in this book and his name is Krylan Starguard. After suffering indignities all his life, the red-haired and red-eyed man discovers a dark power calling him from within his innermost being. He could be the most powerful thing on earth. Before he can claim this power, he has to complete a mission — a very challenging, dangerous mission. Does he have what it takes to accomplish it?

C.H. Norwood is a new name in the world of fantasy and it seems like it’s a name that will linger long in the minds of fantasy fans. He has created characters that will stay with readers for a long time. In this beautiful story, readers will discover the complex character that is the protagonist, but the other characters are well-thought out as well, including crooked priests, powerful warriors, and spirits. The writing is beautiful, very descriptive, evoking powerful images and creating a world of magic. A well-paced story with a powerful conflict, Scion of Sin: A Dark Fantasy Adventure Series will have readers on the edge of their seats.

Scion of Sin (A Dark Fantasy Adventure Series) by C.H. Norwood is a dark fiction, fantasy epic that will appeal most to an audience made up of a mix of young adults and adults who enjoy a fast paced adventure that is sure to keep them on the edge of their seats and leave them wanting more by the end. Scion of Sin follows Krylan Starguard, a Silosian and the first Silosian to ever have red hair and red eyes. Krylan Starguard’s red hair and red eyes are what label him as a pariah to his people. Yet it is also the very thing that makes him into the person he will become as he fights to overcome his physical appearance by proving himself through a quest.

Scion of Sin by C.H. Norwood reminded me of the Game of Thrones series with so much deceit, death, and the occasional risk to one's sanity. The overall feel of the book drew me in from the very first page and wrapped me up tight between its pages as I was pulled in deeper and deeper into the story. Krylan Starguard quickly became my favorite character and not only because he was the main character, but because of his personality. I loved how he was willing to fight to prove himself and to understand his power in order to become the person he was meant to be.

In an intriguing and interesting new tale by debut author C.H. Norwood, Scion of Sin, the first book in the planned Chronicles of Krylan series, readers will be taken on a real roller coaster of a ride through a fantastic world that they likely haven’t encountered before in a work of science fiction or fantasy. Follow the story of Krylan Starguard as he navigates through a life that has seemed doomed from the start. The only Silosian to ever have red hair and red eyes, he has always stood out, and not in a good way. He’s always been targeted for ridicule, but when he begins to discover his own dark power, he realizes that he has it within himself to make the bullying stop. But with great power, especially great dark power, comes responsibility. Will Krylan be able to control his actions enough to learn where it comes from and do what he needs to save himself? You’ll need to read the book to find out!

I very much enjoyed Scion of Sin. Author C.H. Norwood has done a great job with his first effort as an author, and this book is a thrilling read that will keep readers turning the pages obsessively from the start all the way through until the very end. Readers will find Norwood’s characters easy to relate to, connect with and care about. That is not always an easy feat to accomplish in a work of fantasy, and is certainly a hallmark of a great author. I am pleased to be able to recommend Scion of Sin, and look forward to reading more in this series from the very promising new talent, C.H. Norwood, in the future!

Krylan has spent his entire life as an outcast, disregarded and hated because of the secrets surrounding his birth, secrets that left him with strange eyes and hair. But the world as he knows it is about to change, because the secrets of his birth just might be the answer to what is happening to his family and the world around him. It will be up to Krylan and his family, alongside old enemies turned friend, like Diggy, and strangers who just might hold the secrets to everything, with glowing red eyes of their own. Scion of Sin by C.H. Norwood will show that there’s definitely more to sin than anyone can imagine.

This book was full of adventure and action. Krylan is the type of character that anyone can relate to because he’s not what he wants to be and he sees himself as having a lot of flaws, but he never gives up on his plans and ambitions. He never backs down or lets what others say get to him. He’s a strong and brave person. The story, as he’s trying to find out more about himself and trying to save those around him, is an intriguing one that will definitely interest readers. There’s just a little bit of romance in this book, but I’m sure that will increase in the next, along with the action and adventure. I’m definitely going to be looking for the next book in this series, after reading Scion of Sin by C.H. Norwood.
