Gordon Carney, his wife Karen, and son Brady were thrilled to move to a new house in a new neighborhood in Hollywood Hills. However, their excitement is cut short when they start experiencing strange things. First, Karen narrowly survives death from an attack by a swarm of flies in their bathroom. Then there are strange sounds and smells around the house. It gets worse when Karen finds Brady underwater in the bathtub. Digging into the history of the house, Karen finds out the last owner of the house killed her twin daughters and committed suicide in the house. Karen decides to call a medium to check out the house, claiming it is haunted. After inspecting the house, the medium’s words are: “You are in great danger in this house.” While Gordon doesn’t believe in the medium’s words or supernatural phenomena, he realizes life has spiraled downward ever since moving to that house. Gordon is a hitman, a fact he keeps hidden from his family. He is in trouble with a drug cartel for botching up an assignment, something he has never done before. What will get to Gordon first? The spirits in his house tearing his family and life apart? The cartel? Law enforcement? Or can he save his family from what’s coming their way? Find out in Bryan Cassiday’s Scream of Silence.

This spine-chilling page-turner is going to have you hooked, flipping from cover to cover. If you are looking for a horror thriller blended with crime, Bryan Cassiday’s Scream of Silence is a must-read. The macabre tone of the storyline, the ingenious plot twists, and spell-binding cliffhangers had me on the edge of my seat. Adding a tremendous dramatic touch to the scenes, Cassiday brings them to life with colorful evocative depictions. It felt like I was next to the characters in every scene, watching the scenes unfold like watching a classic Hollywood horror movie. Gordon doesn’t know it, but he is playing a hard hand in a gamble with very high stakes. Scream of Silence is fantastic and I loved it. It will have you looking behind you when alone. I would love to see this on the big screen.
