Secrets of the Wild by Olivia Kent is an interesting look at the hidden lives of animals. We are introduced to the wild by the author, who states that although we know much about the animal kingdom we have yet to learn about their secret world. Beavers are known for building dams, but did you know that they throw elegant parties, and everyone is invited? On Sunday nights the Weasels have a rodeo and ride birds high into the sky. The animals trade tree bark, acorns, and pebbles for cider and everyone has a good time. It is the event of the week, and everyone enjoys themselves. Even laboratory animals have secret lives playing cards when no one is looking. This is a charming story about the lives of animals that we will never see. This is a perfect story for children with their highly imaginative minds and even parents will love it. You would never think that animals have secret lives but little do we know about the amazing adventures they embark on and all the places they see.

Secrets of the Wild by Olivia Kent is a sweet story about the private lives of animals and what they get up to when we are not looking. Illustrated by Srimalie Bassow, these stories are brought to life most charmingly. You can enjoy the rodeo and the cider with the animals and see yourself riding the birds high into the sky. This story is perfect for children and parents who love to be imaginative and full of joy. The illustrations are so well executed that you can see yourself having a good time with the animals. The images put you right into the action and give you an inside look at a world we don't see. I loved this story and hope that others will enjoy it too. The adventures are so adorable and the animals are so well depicted that you can't help but fall in love with them. This is a book for everyone and I think everybody will enjoy it. A definite must-read.
