Khlori is a fabulous sci-fi space-travel adventure novella by talented debut author K. Kuziak. The story transports us to a planet in the Pleiades star cluster. We meet Khlori. At 250 years old, Khlori is a top student at an Intergalactic Academy and looks like a typical 20-year-old human. To complete her exoplanetary studies, Khlori needs to analyze Earth’s atmosphere. Professor Auldredge, who planned and oversees Khlori’s expedition, requires Khlori to remain cloaked in orbit and strictly prohibits her from landing on Earth. Off Khlori goes on the longest space excursion of her life, 444 light-years away from her planet, piloting Orbiter, a cutting-edge star-warp spacecraft. After six days of hibernating, Khlori wakes up once Orbiter enters Earth’s solar system. But will Khlori accomplish her space mission? And more importantly, will she survive?
What a bedazzling adventure. Khlori by K. Kuziak was an absolute thrill. I enjoyed Khlori’s flyby of the solar system’s planets and learning about their distinctive features. I wish I could witness those with my own eyes. I also liked Khlori’s upbeat and defiant personality, with all her excitement, disappointments, and humor. Professor Auldredge impressed me too with his foresight and care for Khlori’s safe travels. And the story would not be the same without Khlori’s Earthlink friends. But what impressed me most was the clean romance and the power of love. This fast-moving, suspenseful page-turner kept me riveted until the end and left me wishing for a sequel. I enjoyed shadowing Khlori, and I highly recommend this wonderful book to space sci-fi fans.
