Selecting My Soulmate, to me, is tailor-made for romance readers who love books with interesting love triangles. Authors E. Masson and Julie G. Henry have done a fantastic job of making the reader truly care for both suitors of the protagonist. Rian and James have very different personalities, but their feelings for Amber are genuine, and you find yourself conflicted as to who you want her to end up with. Levi is also the perfect foil to both these characters. I was pleasantly surprised by the pacing of the book. It's primarily a character-driven narrative, but the plot moves at a brisk pace, and there's not a single dull moment when you feel like taking a break. All in all, I enjoyed the book very much, and will heartily recommend it to fans of contemporary romance.

Selecting My Soulmate by E. Masson and Julie G. Henry is a brilliant romance about divorced mother Amber Phil as attorney Rian Ekinley pursues marriage. The push and pull works beautifully, and Amber won me over on account of her decisions always returning to Lucas, her young son, which is probably the single most important characteristic in a maternal female lead. When Lucas fears leaving grandmother Linda for Rian’s beach house, she delays the move until he gives his honest approval. Rian was a surprise to me because I kind of expected him to be more wealth-insulated and socially sheltered, but the author scrubs and polishes him up nicely. The settings are absolutely dreamy, from James’s Monaco coast home with its private chef, to Rian’s beach house where flowers arrive daily. Readers who enjoy adult romance where a regular single mom has some fabulous options will love this book.
