I very much enjoyed Send My Love. I hadn't read the first book in the series, Send Flowers, but found that I was quickly able to catch on to the story line and the characters. Author Mike Crowley has done a fantastic job in writing a book that will keep his readers obsessively turning the pages until the very end, desperate to find out how the story ends. Scenes were well drawn and the story was fast paced, but not so much so that the story feels rushed or that the author missed important pieces of the puzzle when telling the story.

Any reader who enjoys an exciting work of fiction with a hefty dose of political intrigue should definitely pick up Send My Love: Book Two of the Shotgun John and the Scorpion Series. I am pleased to recommend this book, and certainly hope that author Mike Crowley is hard at work on the next installment in this highly addictive series! I, for one, will be waiting impatiently for its arrival!

Send My Love by Mike Crowley (Shotgun John and Scorpion) is the second novel in the series by this awesome writer. I still remember reading Send Flowers and it was a thrilling ride. In complete Mike Crowley style, the novel opens with a disaster; three nukes are fired, terrorists are blamed, and this time the lousy CIA wants to start a war. But here is the catch: the army does not want that. So now it is time for Shotgun John and Scorpion to join in once again and see what is happening. Of course, their congressman friend is again by their side to help them figure out what is happening. These two will do anything to stop the CIA propaganda and boost Representative Bill Warren’s ideas.

I actually really love the way this author writes. I mean, there are hints and nudges that are a little telling, but you will not be able to decipher these things until you have reached the point of recognition. For example, his Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” reference was really awesome. I am pretty sure that the person who reads the prologue to the novel will read the novel until the end because you cannot stop yourself after that point.

The mood was set right from the beginning. I think I said it the last time too that this felt like a great Hollywood action movie. I can imagine Shotgun John’s voice in my head, feel his presence in my mind, and that is what takes the novel to a whole new level, folks. This is another great novel by Mr. Crowley and I hope it is just as successful as the first one. I loved it! There is no other word for it.

There is nothing like a good mystery/thriller and suspense focused around a political conspiracy to get the blood flowing. Send My Love (Book 2 in the Shotgun John and Scorpion Series) by Mike Crowley doesn’t disappoint. In this page-turning thriller, Crowley opens with a prologue concerning the theft of three nuclear warheads. This holds enough of a suspenseful introduction to the activities that will influence the outcome, the brilliant finale which leaves the reader begging for more. When Raquel and John (Scorpion and Shotgun John) are blamed for the theft of the nukes, they know there must be far more to the story. The CIA and the Army are on opposite sides if the crisis warrants starting another war. Scorpion and Shotgun John band together with a progressive congressman to solve the mystery of who took the warheads, and to determine is it for profit or something even more sinister? The answers to these questions are uncovered in this riveting sequel to Crowley’s Send Flowers.

My only wish is that I had read the first book in the series to get a better feel for the characters. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down until the end, and I wanted to keep reading! Fast paced twists and turns lead you through the investigations, culminating in an edge of your seat finale. You don’t have to read Send Flowers first; Send My Love is complete in and of itself. But why wouldn’t you want to read the rest of the series? If you like stories from authors like Tom Clancy and James Patterson, then you should definitely check out the Shotgun John and Scorpion series.
