Serenya was raised by Douglas Barnaby her after her mother died giving birth to her. He loved her and treated her as if she were his biological daughter. Together they made ale for his tavern. Serenya played the piano in the tavern and attracted the attention of the Earl of Summerwind, Sebastian Crowe, who later became her husband. It was not a happy marriage. Jayden moved to Summerwind after his marriage was annulled. He never expected to fall in love again, but from the moment he first laid eyes on Serenya he knew he loved her. Jayden wants to take Serenya away from her abusive husband and keep her safe as she learns about her ancestry. Serenya just wanted to be happy and was flattered when Sebastian paid attention to her. She saved her father’s tavern and kept him safe by marrying Sebastian. Jayden was disappointed when his marriage did not work out. He had to leave and find a new place for himself in the world; little did he know it would bring him into Serenya's path.
This is the second book in the 'Tallenmere' series. Fans will be thrilled to be reunited with Serenya and Jayden from book one. Romance along with a little sleuthing makes this an entertaining book.
